The purpose of this website is to provide you with a picture of the skills and capabilities gained throughout my thirteen year ICT career so that you may get an idea of where I can help you and your customers at a strategic and technical stand point.

QUICK CAREER SUMMARY

Thirteen years in the Wellington ICT space both in technical and sales:

  • The first eight years were in the technical space - PC/server/peripheral/OS/network/voice - support and implementation.
  • Then eighteen months managing service delivery of a Student Management System to Tertiary Providers.
  • The last two roles have been around business development and account management so really looking at building opportunity through partnering and managing relationships to enhance customer loyalty.
         During my time at Fujitsu, AMP and IBM I was involved in             large scale implementation projects of desktops,                      laptops, servers, data and voice networks.

        A component of my role at Express Data was attending             sales and technical educational resources, either on-line              or through events held in Australasia. This gave me a                  good understanding of the latest technical advances in             the following categories:
  • Software licensing (MS, Novell, IBM Software),
  • Thin Client technologies (Citrix, SunRay),
  • Security, Availability and Identity Management (Symantec, RSA and Sun),
  • Networking technologies (Cisco and Nortel), and
  • Servers and Storage (Sun/StorageTek)
        And as a result a good understanding of the pain points             of the end-user and the solutions currently provided to             resolve these issues.

        In my last two roles I have worked closely with Gen-i                 and Telecom.
  • Worked with Gen-i to deliver Double-Take into NZFS (ITNZ Solutions)
  • Set up an accreditation path for Gen-i to become a certified reseller of Double-Take (ITNZ Solutions)
  • Worked closely with Gen-i's Procurement team, Technical Architects, Design Engineers and Sales Managers (Express Data)

QUICK PROFILE SUMMARY

  • My approach has always been to listen and ask questions. This gives me the ability to identify the problem at hand and get a good grasp of the underlying and peripheral issues.
  • I'm passionate about IT and Business. I like to understand business processes and the people that run them. Giving the client the sense that I care about their business and technology requirements and that I can help them move forward.
  • I have enough of an understanding about technology that the client can trust that I understand them. I aim to become a strategic advisor to them in the medium-long term to build trust and loyalty to the Gen-i brand.
  • By understanding Gen-i's core offerings, in time I will be able to translate what I have learnt into opportunity and relevant solutions for the customer that will keep them coming back for more.
